桦白

Born in 1993 in Dongyang, Zhejiang Province, China. After graduating from university, she worked in interior design in Shanghai. Driven by a passion for different materials, in 2019, she began exploring ceramics and immersing herself in the study of clay and fire. In 2023, she moved to Japan. Currently, she is studying ceramics at Musashino Art University.

By combining her previous design experience with her ceramic practice, she seeks to establish a dialogue between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary expression. Approaching ceramics from a contemporary perspective, she focuses her research on “natural glazes and carbonisation firing.”

Through continuous experimentation, vessels develop distinctive textures and character through the interplay of accidentals and intentionals. Her works respond to the functional needs of everyday objects while revealing the inherent strength and warmth of clay and fire.
